Explanation of procedures and time spent in hospital
Upper or lower blephaloplasty: reshaping of the eyelids caused from sagging and ageing. The eyelids are lifted to give a more youth full look. This procedure is done under local anesthetic with only 6 hours spent in hospital after which patient can return home with a follow up examination around 5-7 days later.
Liposuction: The removal of underlying body fat by a suction procedure. Usual fat content safely removed at one time is 3-4 kilograms, this procedure is mainly for body sculpturing and not dramatic weight loss as people often thinks! There may also have to be surgery to achieve an overall balanced look. This procedure is done under general anesthesia with an estimated 3 night stay in hospital with 2-3 follow up appointments.
Adnominoplasty: The “tummy tuck” is a surgery procedure to remove excess skin and fat on the abdomen caused from pregnancy, obesity, and ageing. Tummy tucks are done on both men and women. Candidates should be in good health and not have any present disease, or pre-existing medical condition. This type of surgery is done under general anesthetic with a 3-4 night stay in hospital with follow-up appointments.
Face lift: This surgery procedure is performed to remove excess fatty tissue, tighten facial muscles, and smooth facial skin – all with minimal scarring. Several procedures are available, including the standard face lift or mini face lift: sometimes know as the “weekend” face lift because of how quickly it can be done and how short the recovery is, enhancing sagging checks, jaw line, and neck. another point is that it is far cheaper than the full face lift and the patient can go home the same day! Whereas the full face lift requires a 2-3 night stay in hospital.
Genioplasty: The procedure is performed by the use of a chin implant which is placed in position and the incisions closed. The size of the chin is reduced to give the face a more balanced and streamlined look. Surgery is performed under local anesthetic with the patient being allowedhome the same day.
Mammoplasty breast augmentation: Consists of insertion of a silicon bag (prosthesis) under the breast and then filling the bag with saline (salt water). This expands the breast area to give a fuller breast, better contour, and gives more cleavage. 2-3 day stay in hospital.
Mammoplasty breast reduction: The surgeon cuts around the nipple and areola. Fat and breast tissue are removed and excess skin is trimmed. Depending on how much breast tissue is removed, the surgeon may need to reposition the nipple higher up on the remaining breast.
